Resolve’s innovative website is set up such that solicitors can easily browse the CVs of medical experts by specialism and by geographical location, before deciding on which expert best suits their needs. If an expert is required urgently, or if a client is only available to be examined within a certain window of time, the Resolve support staff are incredibly quick to make enquiries with the team of medical experts, and then offer a range of suitable options.

Resolve’s use of web-based technology means that as a firm we are no longer required to photocopy huge bundles of medical records then post them out with a letter of instruction. We simply upload the letter and records to Resolve’s secure website, safe in the knowledge that sensitive client information is protected. This gives us peace of mind, and also saves valuable time and money.

Resolve liaise with the client direct to arrange an appointment, and the invoice and report are uploaded to the website. Again, this saves time and has the benefit of enabling us to email the medical report to our client immediately, rather than having to photocopy it and post it out to them. In today’s modern world where use of technology is second nature to many clients, this enables us as solicitors to meet the demands of our clients for matters to be dealt with efficiently and quickly.

Resolve has fundamentally modernised and improved  the task of identification and instruction of medical experts, and the obtaining of reports, rendering it convenient and efficient. As a co-operative of Consultants, Resolve has brought together the medical and legal professions. Resolve encourage feedback from the solicitors who use them, both on an individual case basis, and in general terms on the service they provide.

Interdisciplinary meetings held at the instigation of Resolve represent a “first” in Scotland, and have proven extremely valuable. They have given solicitors a better understanding of what information the medical experts instructed require from them, and they have given the medical experts a better appreciation of the issues faced by solicitors, as well an understanding of the questions they require to address in their reports. This has improved the quality of the medical evidence available to both parties involved in any litigation, and to the Court.
